Opponents of a no-deal Brexit just got royally outflanked.

Boris Johnson’s wheeze of getting the Queen to order a five-week suspension of Parliament means his critics have much less time than they thought to prevent the UK leaving the European Union without a deal on October 31.

Before today, their preferred option was to pass a law requiring the government to seek an extension to the Brexit deadline and hold a second referendum, should negotiations with the EU fail to result in a deal.

Boris Johnson’s attempt to suspend parliament to avoid scrutiny of his plans for a reckless No Deal Brexit is an outrage and a threat to our democracy. Labour will work across Parliament to hold the government to account and prevent a disastrous No Deal.

Son with his own company, "Television Production -Inspire Film & Television Ltd.", located in London, says being in the EU makes it easy for him to work in the EU countries, just load and go make the film in any of those countries.  When Britain exits the EU, much paperwork will have to be done to gain entrance to one of those countries to work there.  Going to one to work is different from going there for a holiday.

All of this comes before Brexit, and the looming prospect that the UK may leave the EU on 31 October with no deal, plunging Northern Ireland into political, economic and social chaos which it is wholly unprepared to withstand. “Operation Yellowhammer” documents leaked from the government this week suggested a hard border would have to be introduced in Ireland, something which senior police chiefs have explicitly warned will become a target for dissident republicans.

The prime minister's decision to suspend Parliament has prompted an angry backlash from MPs and campaigners.

Hundreds of people protested in London on Wednesday and a petition against the move gained a million signatures.

Earlier the Queen approved Boris Johnson's request to suspend Parliament for five weeks in September and October - weeks before the Brexit deadline.

Opponents say it will leave MPs with little time to stop a no-deal Brexit.

But cabinet minister Michael Gove insisted the suspension was "certainly not" a political move to stop MPs blocking a no deal.

Instead, he told the BBC there would be "plenty of time" to debate Brexit before the scheduled departure date of 31 October.

On Wednesday, Mr Johnson said a Queen's Speech would take place after the suspension, on 14 October, to outline his "very exciting agenda".

He said he did not want to wait until after Brexit "before getting on with our plans to take this country forward".

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn described it as "a smash and grab on our democracy" in order to force through a no deal by not leaving enough time to pass laws in Parliament - and pledged to try to stop the suspension.

The prime minister says he wants to leave the EU at the end of October with a deal, but is willing to leave without one rather than miss the deadline.

She’s not “just a figurehead.”

Her Majesty The Queen is Britain’s final constitutional backstop. On Aug. 28, she acted in the interest of the majority of people in Britain. She approved Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s request to suspend Parliament from early September to mid-October.

The move paves the way for Johnson to follow through on Brexit. The British people voted to leave the European Union in June 2016, but Parliament has sought to thwart the people’s will for the last three years.

Parliament has of course done itself no favors as of late: originally voting in favor of the referendum itself, voting for Article 50 — which notified the EU of the result and intent to leave — voting for the Withdrawal Act, which set leaving in motion, but then rejecting a deal with the EU three times.

Now the queen has allowed Johnson’s administration to “prorogue” Parliament if it wishes. This means the rump of anti-democratic members who have been stalling the process may not sit between Sept. 9 and Oct. 14, and will likely not have enough time to stop a “no deal” Brexit — or even to call a motion of “no confidence” in the prime minister — again.

If this happens, Britain leaves without a deal on Oct. 31.
