US drone shot down over Yemen

A U.S. drone was downed in Yemen late Tuesday, with members of the rebel Houthi movement taking credit, Reuters reports.
Al Masirah, a TV channel founded and owned by the Houthi rebels, quoted a Houthi military spokesman as saying air defenses brought down the MQ-9 drone.
Two U.S. officials later told Reuters it was shot down southeast of Sana’a, the Houthi-controlled capital, in Yemen’s Dhamar governorate.
“We are aware of reporting that a US MQ-9 was shot down over Yemen. We do not have any further information to provide at this time,†the U.S. military’s Central Command said in a statement.
