There's a plenty of daylight between a tiny number of noisy Antifa and a tiny number of noisy white supremicists.    It's just that you'd never know it by the state of what passes for mainstream politics these days.  It's not about policy prescriptions, it's about theater.    Casting the 2020 election as a morality play between left-wing hate and right-wing hate is the catnip currently enthralling the mainstream media and the cast of losers running for President.

So, what is that daylight, the essential differences?

They used to post the comments under the articles which basically were NOT!!! anti-Semitic. But a lot of the comments under them were.
At some point in the last few years, Taki Theodoracopulis took the comments off.
Why? I believe it was probably because a great many of the commenters, supposedly conservatives, blamed the Jews for everything. Theodoracopulis aka Taki is himself anti-Israel, but the people who write columns for him do not appear to be, and includes one writer, David Cole, who is Jewish. At least they don't write anti-Jewish or anti-Israel articles as a rule. Except for Taki, himself
Unfortunately, you don't have to visit Stormfront to find nasty anti-Semites on the right.
If you visit some lefty sites like DemocraticUnderground aka DummyUnderground, you'll find a lot of posters who hate Israel but who swear they're not anti-Semitic.
Which might be true for a lot of them, as many of the posters identify as  Jews  but profess sympathy for "Palestinians" many of whom would like nothing better than to slit their throats.
Their sympathy for people, Palestinians, who contribute to the world nothing but misery and promises of death to Israel and Jews confounds me.

I'm not a Jazzhead Whisperer, but I took him to mean that there are a not of non-crazies between the extremes of the Antifoid crazies and the skinhead-grade crazies.

For my part, I think the Antifoid crazies far outnumber the skinhead-grade crazies. Though I haven't counted feet and divided by two for either group.

That's sort of what I was getting at:  both "sides" promote hate, use violence, are anti-Semitic and anti-selected-other-ethnic-groups, and are anti-American and want America to be something other than what it actually is.

I don't see how either of them translate into "right-wing Americans", unless you are using a European version of right and left.  Right wing Americans are pro-freedom and for limited government.

 W.F. Buckley Jr. threw out those types and the Birchers  creating along with Barry Goldwater a conservative movement that wasn't anti-Semitic or conspiratorial. Goldwater himself was half Jewish. Birchers thought Eisenhower was a communist or a fellow traveler.
But there always has been a fringe group of people considered on the far right who are anti-Semitic, racist, and hate and seek to oust all people who aren't "pure white."
Not my kind of people. Anybody of any color or race who believes in the U.S.  constitution, no special favors to certain groups,  and the rule of law is my kind of person.

"White nationalist" is the new bogeyman, even though I doubt anyone at ABC News has ever seen one. This guy hated jews; how do we know he wasn't Muslim or Antifa? I suspect that to the snooze media, any white guy is a nationalist/supremacist anymore.

The Left is off their rocker. They’ll twist anything, take any story, any idea and try to construct a damaging narrative.

Like trying to tie white supremacy to President Trump. Donald Trump; who has a family, half of which are Jewish!

Or, like saying Donald Trump doesn’t like foreigners, despite the fact that Trump was married to two foreigners.

But Trump still relies for almost all of his support on his "base",  and that's where perception can become reality.    Sure, his critics are cynical,  but when anti-Semitic and/or white nationalist mass shooters make the headlines,  there is something to be gained by forcefully denouncing such ideologies and publically standing in deliberate contrast,  much as Bill Clinton did with Sistah Souljah.    That is,  wall off the bigots and supremicists as unacceptable in respectable conservative circles.

Good question.  A dog whistle is only heard by the dog.   If Trump is speaking in code (nudge nudge, wink wink) to his supporters,  then the Dems shouldn't be able to understand it.   It's a flawed metaphor.
