He certainly said the right things at the rally last evening, let's hope he does the right thing when these bills are put on his desk.

Which begs the question of why FOX zoomed on the empty section?

I didn't watch it, so I can't say if they were trying to focus there or not, but that's only one frame.  Maybe they were panning the crowd and wanted to get the KAG sign in there and someone grabbed a screen capture.

I don't trust the media -- or their viewers/bloggers.

Interesting what the Hill chose to take from that rally.

Especially when the 'tongue in cheek' part of the statement doesn't translate to print. It was said with a smile.

I'll choose whoever I think is best, even if that means I have to write myself in.

We have a choice and that's what makes America great. Not wannabe despots.

The fact there were a thousand people (at least) seated and standing outside the venue should cancel out the empty nosebleed seats.

Yup!  And the 2A ... yikes!!!

If he signs the Red Flag Laws as he has mentioned, the 2A, 5A and 14A are down the tubes.  That's reality -- what he said at his rally and what he said in regards to confiscating guns first and worry about due process later are two different things.

So ... waiting to see what he actually does rather than trying to figure out which statement he made on the 2A is actually going to become reality.

:amen:  Too often what he says and what he does are two different things.  He proclaims he is for the 2A, but then turns around and talks about implementing Red Flag Laws; confiscate guns and due process later.

While it may be true, that was a really dumb thing to say.

No it wasn't.  The President was saying in that sentence if you care up financial and national security and the sovereignty of the nation, you have to vote for me.

Turn it around and he's saying if you like socialism and open borders, vote for them.

It's obvious to me that our borders are as open today as they were before Trump took office. A few hundred miles of new fence might slow illegal immigration down, but not by much.

Besides judges and tax cuts, what else makes Trump better than the Democrats on policy?

Smokin Joe, you said:   "That is a fairly small section of an arena, and just as CNN might show the "crowd" channeled into limited seating with a tight shot, FOX might be showing a section closed off or otherwise deemed unsuitable for occupation by the crowd or arena management. I'd much rather see a better view of available seating in the whole place."

You are right that section was closed for a reason.
I saw/read (DCPatriot and I have no life so we view TV a lot and read a lot), that section was roped off by Secret Service due to that angle/elevation having a direct sight line to the podium. I also read the estimated number was about 11,000 in there.

An aside: Why I read a lot - I began to read at age 3.  When I was old enough to climb a certain tree in our backyard, I would take a book, some home grown peaches, figs, etc., climb the tree and sit up there and read.  Our school was close enough for me to ride my bicycle to the school library that stayed open all summer, check out books, ride home and read more books in the tree and continue that all summer.  I was sort of a recluse book reader, didn't need others to have fun - the books took me all over the world.

When he said the "you have to vote for me" words, he got louder and louder, hanging onto that subject for a while, listing over and over why they had to vote for him.

For the faithful they loved it - I think the general public will be put off hearing that, as though they are his prisoners having to do his bidding - they may vote otherwise just to show him they are independent - not glued to him.  He should not use this talking point due to the general public reaction of "You don't own me, I can do what I want.", but he will.

Judges and tax cuts are of major importance, but his quest to strip away all the Federal EPA regulations on small business is the reason today, minorities both black and brown are enjoying their HIGHEST employment rate in the nation's history.

And we're not talking about menial jobs available during the Obama administration...so much so that they kept Millennials home with mom and dad.

Trump says lots of things. But it’s what he’s done—his track record—that’s gaining him growing respect and increasing support for his re-election. The hope part is over. It’s Miller time.

IMO, he HAS to keep beating this drum.

He's a superb marketer.  And HE is the product.  It's only August.  And I mean 2015 again!

He will explain why...if you love your country, we will have no choice but to get off our azzes and vote for him.  He will tell you clear-cut DIFFERENT reasons why...each time and as each month passes.

Yet, this ‘increasing support’ is not reflected in the latest Rasmussen poll. A lot of the same people who wave off the importance of polls are among the same folks who point of them as valid, when Rasmussen has showed him at the 50% mark.

Beautiful story.    It also helps me to better understand the person behind the avatar after so many years.

This is simply Exhibit A, @edpc ....evidence that the 24/7/365 hit by the MSM has had an effect.  It's also the very reason he's out there telling everyone that they have no choice.

He's going 'ALL IN' on just telling the truth and reality...trusting our judgment.

There is no doubt that he is a fantastic marketer of himself.  That's a given.  Again, he continues to preach to his own choir. He needs to garner votes from those that didn't previously vote for him.  That's the bottom line.  Several red states are seeing a huge influx of people from blue states due to high taxes and cost of living; that in itself could turn the state purple.

Secondly, I love this country, but this Republic will not be able to continue to stand if he goes along with the leftists and dismantles the 2A, 5A and 14A.  So, if he does go along with them, why, oh, why would I then feel compelled to vote for him?  The dismantling of our Constitution will collapse this country; just exactly what the leftist have been pushing for.

You are absolutely correct.  He promised a wall - no wall.  He promised a budget - rising deficit.  He proclaimed he is a proponent of the 2A - pushing red flag laws.

Personally, I can overlook some of his shortcomings in the hopes that he will eventually deliver, but I cannot and will not overlook any further infringement on the 2A or any other amendment.

@libertybele

You, me, and millions of others.

I had to overlook a lot to vote for him in 2016.  I was willing to continue to do the same for 2020.  But if he signs any bills that infringe upon our RKBA, I will not be able to vote for him in 2020.

So, now we’re supposed to believe that Rasmussen and Fox, who have been favorable towards him, are now part of the MSM conspiracy?

Come on.
