Princess Haya: Dubai ruler's wife seeks marriage protection order


Princess Haya fled the UAE earlier this year, and has been in hiding in London

The estranged wife of the ruler of Dubai - one of the most high-profile leaders in the Middle East - has asked for a forced marriage protection order in a UK court.

Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum's wife, Princess Haya Bint al-Hussein, is the third female member of his court to apparently try to run away.

This month she was reported to be in hiding in London and is said to be in fear for her life.

So that is there King of UAE? I've certainly seen other pictures of him in Arabic garb, he doesn't look happy, he looks mad, she looks like she'd rather not be there.

The UAE is a federal presidential elected monarchy which is a federation of seven absolute monarchies known as the Emirates. The ruler of Abu Dhabi is President or head of state while the ruler of Dubai is the Prime Minister or head of government.
