Just more Sieg Heil blather from the far Left.
It seems Blasio considers himself to be the ruling Fuhrer of NYC.

People standing in a mile long line with the Leftist goons yelling, "You can come in. You are not approved! Get out!"

Today, the American Democrats have become the most thoroughly hardcore fascist group than the world has seen in decades anywhere.

Soon they will have their Antifa brownshirts in the street and on the border to 'check your papers' to make sure you have been 'approved' as a Liberal Leftist before you can be in the city. If they thought they could do it, they would do it. I think they really would. It is just the kind of people they are. The so called Party of Tolerance is the most intolerant group on Earth. They simply cannot stand any difference of opinion from their own. And they have shown that they are willing to use public violence and force to stop any debate or any dissent as to what they think is right.

There is no way I could live there, or in California.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

Between Wall Street and the many companies based or who have major offices in the City of New York, those companies and institutions do pay a lot of taxes. But AOC and her comrades are working on that. They kept Amazon out of NYC and their comrades in the State of Washington drove Amazon across Puget Sound, out of Seattle.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

NYC sends net money to the federal government.

@Bill Cipher

They were bailed out of bankruptcy by federal money at least once.

CA claims that, too.  In fact, all socialist paradises claim that.  I'll bet Puerto Rico does, too.

No, actually, they weren’t.  President Ford refused to go along with a bailout.

The Tax Foundation - no liberal mouthpiece - documented that NY is a net giver to the federal government, and NYC is a net giver to upstate NY.  Ergo, NYC is a net giver to the federal government.

Those are cold hard facts, not socialist mythology.

Trump not welcome back in New York City after presidency ends, says de Blasio
July 26, 2019 | Zachary Leeman

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is claiming that President Donald Trump will not be welcome in New York City after his presidency ends.

Then, since the socialist paradises hold the purse strings, the rest of us rubes had better snap to and do what they tell us.  Don't mean to pick on you, but that's been the subtext of every person who ever said that to me.  "We are the contributors, you are the recipients, so STFU and get in line!"

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
DeBlasio is inconsequential.  He is running for president and polling at what....ZERO?  He is a legend in his own twisted mind.  He is just one more fruitloop that destroys the brand of the Democommie Party.

Come Nov, 2020, how could anyone look at the Dems and consider them a viable group?  They have become a basket of fruitloops, extreme fruitloops.  If they continue n the path they are on, 2020 will be a very dark year for them.

Your point?

Because the policies enacted at the behest of NYC make paupers of the rest of the state and then the paragons of totalitarian virtue in NYC so graciously dribble a little on the hicks in the sticks? They don't even want jobs in the City (AOC). Talk about Control Freaks, Bloomberg even took his totalitarian anti-gun dog and pony show on the road to try to export NYC attitudes toward guns to the hinterlands in flyover country.

Why did New York ban Hydraulic fracturing, ensuring that those who owned significant resources could not reap a royalty reward from those resources or even be employed in the extraction of them?

I have it on good authority that it was over paranoia that the watersheds which feed water to NYC might become contaminated. Not only are such fears exhibiting a gross ignorance of the Oil and Gas Industry, well construction, environmental safeguards, and the nature of frac fluids, but the policy enacted by such keeps those in the hinterlands in thrall to the City. Controling economic development elsewhere through legislation ensures that.
Refusing the construction of new pipelines only ensures the rest of the Northeast has an energy supply ultimately controlled by New York policy, imposing those good ol' Noo Yawk values on people who don't even live in the State.
NYC consumes nearly 24 million stock tank barrels of drinking water daily (1 billion gallons), and no one wants petroleum in their water, I get that. But it does keep New Yorkers from other areas of the State from making money off of their natural resources, if even just a royalty payment.

It's the new feudalism. The New York City-State keeps its rural serfs in line through Albany, with the illusion they have some say in anything.

Now, if those are the chains New Yorkers wish to embrace, that is up to each and every one of them, urban or rural.
Just don't expect the rest of us to embrace that yoke. We won't. There are a slew of reasons I don't live in New York, not the least of which are its government.

How God must weep at humans' folly! Stand fast! God knows what he is doing!

The Land of LA, SF, and a couple other large CA cities do the same thing to the Central Valley farmers who feed them. And Portland and Eugene pretty much do the same to the rural Oregonians who feed them. It's probably pretty similar in many other states. It bodes ill for the future. City people forget that, if stupidly forced to, farmers and ranchers can revert to subsistence farming as many did in the 1930s.

When the government is burning your grain, slaughtering your cattle and pouring your milk in a ditch it's pretty easy to cut production back to subsistence level.

A significant proportion of the (conservative, Republican) American population didn't want Rudy for POTUS, and he was considered a "good" Mayor of NYC...

Where does that leave DeBlasio?

For all that paranoia about the water there, I think they're too late. Must be something in it....
Delusional billionaires seem pretty common in those zip codes.

Even de Blasio’s staff think his presidential bid is a joke, say insiders
By Jon Levine
July 27, 2019 | 8:50pm
Quote
City Hall is yukking it up — at the boss.

Just months after Mayor de Blasio launched his presidential campaign, multiple mayoral staffers described an atmosphere of mockery and bafflement at Hizzoner’s bid.

“It’s a joke,” one longtime aide told The Post.

“I think that he knows that he can’t win. It’s just a lot of eye-rolling . . . He’s doing it because he’s got a big ego and needs to prove something, and I don’t think he’s going to quietly go away and become an adjunct professor at Hunter.” ...

He's maneuvering for a cabinet position to keep his toes dipped in the cool political water until the post of "Master of the Universe"  is established.

I think many of the 470 Democrat candidates are running out of vanity or maybe some flatterer told them they would be good for the job, or as @sneakypete says, they are looking for a job with whoever does win.  DeBlasio is going nowhere. Not even sure that many people in New York would vote for him.

Well, no and yes. In the 2008 R primary I'd have chosen Thompson or Romney over Giuliani. But in the general I'd have voted Giuliani over Obama much more readily than I voted McCain over Obama.

De Blasio would be on my "Oh HELL no!" list, but I won't have a chance to vote against him, if ever, until the 2020 general election. I'm no Dem, but I have a hard time imagining de Blasio winning the Dem nomination (at this point in 2015 I didn't think Trump was a serious candidate, so take that speculation with a good sized block of salt).

Never mind Trump, what about Bubba Bill getting a second term after the whole Monica deal placing a cap on his corruption? Or Obomber winning either time, when it is obvious he is one of those "Wind Up Dummies" that just parrots what he has been told to say and has no idea what any of it means. Not to mention the whole "not a citizen, moving his illegal alien auntie into welfare housing in Baltimore (I think it was Baltimore) with her very own Medicaid Card right before an election,or the whole "Bathhouse Barry married to a tranny" thing.

Funny how the press reported SOME of that stuff only one time and it disappeared quicker than an illegal alien that just crossed the border.

I agree. Many of the Democrat pseudo-candidates want to be introduced after the election as, "Former Presidential Candidate XXXX" even if they only get 3 votes. Also, there is the game of getting their name out there as a potential VP, or for a Cabinet position.

In fact, many of them are not running for President at all. They are running to get picked as a VP and simply for the fame and notoriety of 'being involved' in the election in any capacity. I've always wondered who are the idiot donors giving money to this deBlasio kind of candidate. Oh well. People throw their money away in all kinds of ways. So Whatever?

But there is also still a seething anger at Donald Trump. That is, the motivation for billionaires all over the country is nothing but petty jealousy. For whatever reason, these monster-ego guys think they are 100 times smarter and better than Trump. And it kills them that he is President and they are not. "If only I had run! I could have beat him by a mile!" They underestimated Trump in the last election and they still do now. They are thinking incorrectly in my opinion, "If that idiot can win, then anybody can."

@240B

You know,I had never even considered that, and really think you put your thumb down on something there!

Don't forget, some of these multi-millionaires are public faces on teebee news shows, looking semi-smart due to the work of the drones under them. NOBODY has more ego than a teebee personality that purports to know and be able to explain the news to us simple folks.

I even had a friends wife whose family is involved in Virginia politics once tell me "You are just too ignorant to really understand what is going on,and I don't have the time to try to dumb it down enough for you to understand it."

For real. I am guessing to this very day she is wondering why I started laughing hysterically.

Her family does have enough pull to get her eldest son a job in London with an international investment firm, straight out of college, though. TOTAL mama's boy that was never allowed to go to work with his father at his garage, and had to stay at home with his mother after school.  Wasn't even allowed to cut the grass or wash the car. Wouldn't do to have the future scion do manual labor, would it?

The funny part is I got obsessed with computers back when DOS was still the king, and he started taking computer classes on school. He ran into a computer problem at home and his father asked me if I would stop by and see if I could figure it out,and I did. I even showed him a new way to do some things.

A couple of weeks later I read in the local newspaper about how he was a computer genius who had came up with a couple of new ways to configure DOS whatever, and how he had taught this to his teacher and computer class. There was even a photo of him and the instructor in the class, smiling. IIRC,the instructor was giving him some sort of award to hang on his wall.

I kept waiting for the "right opportunity" to ring her bell about that one,but she never talked about her son around me after that.

I suppose I am being unfair to "the boy",though. There is a CHANCE he wanted the job in London to get away from his mother instead of going there because his mother thought it was a good place for him to make the connections she wanted him to make, and he might even grow up to be an actual human being now that he has. Slim chance, but a chance.
