State narcotics investigator wounded, suspect dead in shooting at Ross Township shopping center

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A suspect died and a state attorney general's officer was injured when gunshots were fired at a Ross Township shopping plaza Tuesday afternoon, the AG's office said.

The 31-year-old suspect died at the scene and has not yet been identified.

The officer was shot twice and was in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries, according to the attorney general's office.

The shooting happened during an operation by the narcotics investigations bureau of the state attorney general's office, spokeswoman Jacklin Rhoads said.

Yes, Ross Township is a suburb of Pittsburgh. 

By the way, this occurred on the heels of a fatal shooting of an off-duty Pittsburgh police officer a few days ago.  That officer was buried today.
