Good grief people.  Trump promised HE would get a great big beautiful wall built.

Which means he either lied to us, or he’s an incompetent fool who promised what he did not have the skills to obtain.

Steer or queer.  Take your pick.

And that is simply unheard of.  I mean... a candidate for president....on the campaign trail....

making promises he can't or will never ever bother to fulfill.  (obligatory dripping sarcasm icon cued here)

Most folks, and yeah... even most Trump supporters, knew deep down that Mexico would never be made to 'pay for' any wall.

So we elected an incompetent moron who lied to us, and did so knowing we were being lied to.  Wow.  That’s a stunning indictment of this supposedly oh-so-smart Trump voters.

No, what's stunning is your apparent lack of knowledge about how 'most' presidential candidates make promises they can't or won't ever keep.  (friggin duh)

To single out ONLY Trump for this clearly shows your blatant bias.  (double friggin duh)

Suckers. :yowsa:

I think we need to have a drinking contest for every time a Trump fanboy or girl has a comment that diverts from the discussion of his failures.  Like "He he's been pro-life, or "he's nominated conservative judges, or he's better than Hilary, etc. etc. etc.

Bottom line and fact is ....  not one foot of wall has been built.

Yeah.  Typical liberal attack:  you can’t deal with the facts so you attack the messenger.  How very progressive of you.

How do you not know that Congress has blocked the President's requests for money and legislation to reinforce our border security ..... and the judges appointed and approved by the Senate during eight years of the Obummer administration slap down any attempt to reinforce our border security the Congress may miss?

Geeze, it's almost like you've been in a coma for two years.  Hope you're okay.   happy77

Why did Trump promise that which he could not deliver?  And why did you buy the lie?

Good grief, people.  Not only has Congress said no money for the wall construction, judges are going ape crap crazy stopping every alternate funding route the President has attempted.

Yeah I listened to his North Carolina Rally.  He is lying to the people.  He said that the wall was being built.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Every single Presidential candidate makes promises about what they want to do when they get in office, and there is always an implied contingency of needing the support of Congress.  Presidents can fairly be accused of reneging on campaign promises when they change their own position on an issue.  But accusing a candidate of "lying" because a campaign promise could not be fulfilled because of Congressional opposition is nitpicking in the extreme.

Wow.  The excuse-making is rampant.

Trump said he would build the wall.  He didn’t say that he thought it would be a good idea, but that it would take a lot of work to get everyone on board, and that he couldn’t do it by himself.  He said he would build the wall.

Where is that wall?

He’s a steer or a queer.  You have no other choices.

Bullshit.

Trump said he would get the wall built.  No contingencies, no maybes.

And it turns out that he can’t.  And his vaunted negotiating skills?   If he’s so damned good, why couldn’t he get the wall negotiated through Congress?

The last time he tried, Schumer and Pelosi spanked him like it was a political BDSM movie.

Did you think he could build it without Congressional support?  I suspect not.  And if not...then what are you bitching about?  You weren't deceived/lied to because you understood the context in which the statement was made.  You're just pretending that you were to manufacture outrage.

Hop on board the excuse train much?

Refuse to answer the question much?  I'll ask the question again in case you missed it:

Did you believe that Trump could build the wall without any Congressional support, or did you understand that Congressional support would be required?  Because if it's the latter, then you weren't misled at all, and understood exactly what it meant in context when he made those promises.

Or maybe your point is that only really smart guys like you understood that, and he was really lying to everyone else who doesn't have your brain power.

Imagine where we'd be in this project if the President wasn't forced to go to the US Supreme Court for approval to fund the wall @catfish1957 .  Here's a sampling of the "not one foot of wall has been built" ... despite the myriad of obstacles.

Maybe I was hoping he'd steamroll congress on the issue, but it's true he hasn't. He's stuck to the system he's Constitutionally constrained by.

But he has continued to plow ahead under the limitations laid out under the Constitution and I guess I'm willing to give him credit for persevering, where you are not. In fact I'd give him more points for consistency than almost any president in my lifetime.

They're just playing a semantic game because they hate Trump.  If a crappy little fence that could be very easily crossed/destroyed is replaced by a true wall, they don't count that as "new".  See how that works?  The on-ground reality of what is happening is irrelevant to them because their goal isn't to discuss reality, but to trash Trump.

When did you start believing a single word Trump says?  When it's convienient to bash Briefers?

Reading through these threads although they claim to despise Trump often more bile is directed at his supporters. In spite of most acknowledging having the same goals. Figure that one out.

Rest assured the President hasn't lied.   I've posted just a few of the videos showing the progress we've made ... with limited funding.  The progress is grinding to a halt while we all await the decision from the Supreme Court on whether or not the POTUS has the authority to redirect defense department funds to building the wall.

You appear to be quite emotional about this issue @Bill Cipher   I don't know if it's because you're disappointed the wall's not being built fast enough --- in which case I'd advise to chill, keep the faith and know the wall will be completed.

Or you may appear so emotional because you're seizing a media lie and using it as a club to humiliate and beat me with --- in which case I'd advise you to piss off.

Gee... SO MUCH nonsense just flatly goes away when folks examine the record instead of falling for promises made from the stump, you know like what folks called Conservatives used to do... They would debate the candidates RECORD to determine if the candidate was capable of keeping his word before putting their money where his mouth was.
