I guess I can see how this thread went from Amash to Trump, but it hasn't led to any new ground.

Let's stick to the topic and the ramifications of Amash's action.

That tweet was just grist for the mill that feeds his base. The Trump fans I’ve met while on vacation are much more measured than those we see here at TBR and TOS. They’re more focused on potential policy outcomes than engaging in nasty arguments.

They disregard many of his tweets, calling it “Trump being Trump”, as being style over substance.

I hear many Trump supporters who wish he would stop tweeting also.  But the thing is that Republican party hasn't done Trump any favors.  And Trump has let them walk all over his campaign promises.  I don't know much about Amash but I join him in not calling Republican my party.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Amash just punched his own ticket to obscurity, a mere Wikipedia entry in the annals of history, I really liked the guy and I didn't necessarily disagree with his Impeachment talk, (I read the Trump Jr/Goldstone emails) which puts me in another place here, so be it.
   I'm gonna miss him.

This is what has become of the few Conservatives in Trump's GOP, they are ridiculed into obscurity.  Cruz's transformation alone, astounded me.

Amash.  What a bleep.

The "bleep" is Trump for having to make comments about Amash's departure from the party.    Can he ever shaddap?

The Republican Party has always been hostile to Conservatives, it's not necessarily a Trump thing, though our cause has suffered.

I don't think he was a Conservative.  On the issues has him as Moderate.

Nothing conservative or libertarian about wanting to impeach without evidence. He's going away mad because his Chinese business interests are affected by Trump's efforts to get fair trade and no tariffs.

His constituents didn't take kindly to it, is what.  There's  an expression:  "One 'Aw shit!' will wipe away a hundred 'Atta boys'"  His "conservative rating" means less to the people he needs to keep his job than this one "Aw shit."  He acquired a credible Primary opponent the day he announced he was all-in with Pelosi and was on his way to losing before this stunt.

Without evidence?

Between you, me, everyone else here, and this Amish guy, how many of us have read the Mueller report?

I don't know. That is what impeachment is for - Indictment and presentation of the evidence.

And I don't give a crap that it's Tumpy. I would be in exactly the same place if it were Cruz or even Reagan.

You don't impeach without evidence of a crime, just like you don't indict without evidence of a crime. Kind of basic civil liberties.

On the issues has him Libertarian Conservative

With a quick review of his record I didn't see anything I didn't like.

We will see. I am not offended by his actions at all.
In fact, I would hope that calls for impeachment would readily come from one's own party. If more attention were paid to governance and less to partisanship, we'd all be ahead of the game.

What matters is how his bosses feel about it, and every indication is they hate it.
