Reporter Andy Ngo beaten down by Antifa, police seem uninterested

Quillette photojournalist Andy Ngo was covering a riot being conducted by Antifa thugs in Portland yesterday when he inadvertently became a major part of the story rather than simply documenting it. The violent mob was there “counter-protesting” an appearance by the Proud Boys, when several of the criminals decided to physically attack Ngo and steal his camera equipment, presumably to prevent him from possessing video proof of their illegal activities. Ngo was later taken to the emergency room to have his injuries tended to. (Reason)

Nothing new about this, Portland cops have been ignoring the Antifa violence since it started. After this much outcry, I'm not laying all the blame on the Mayor, even if he is also the Police Chief.  The Police Union should already be balking about this.

I find the name of the Police department interesting:  "Portland Police Bureau."  Like it's some room filled with bureaucrats.

Many Police Chiefs across America have been ordered to take a 'hand off' approach with Antifa no matter what they do. However, they have no problem with arresting anyone wearing a MAGA hat or shirt. According to many Police Departments, just wearing the hat is 'inciting violence' because it 'triggers' hateful violent criminal Leftists to beat them. It's your fault for causing them to assault you!

The State politicians do not want violent criminal Antifa members arrested because many politicians support Antifa. It is the right-wing that is violent, according to them, regardless of truth or reality. The Left are just peaceful little lambs.

This whole antifa thing is shameful. Twenty years ago the idea that a major city would let a bunch of masked thugs run around terrorizing political opponents would have been thought of as ridiculous. Supposedly the days of the KKK were over.
Now we have a mayor of a major American city allowing just that.
The feds should step in and start arresting people beginning with the fascist mayor of Portland, Ted Wheeler.
