Graham says he wants to compromise with Pelosi on aid, asylum laws
By Rebecca Klar - 06/30/19 12:13 PM EDT

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday that he offered a compromise to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to limit the deaths of migrants making the dangerous trek to cross the U.S. border.

"I spent about an hour with Speaker Pelosi and here's the compromise: We'll start turning the aid back on to Central America. It is in our national security interest to help the Northern Triangle nations with their economy, with their rule of law problems. But if you don't turn off the magnets that attract people, which is our asylum laws, if you don't reform them, they'll keep coming," Graham said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Graham also addressed the viral photo of a father and toddler drowned in the Rio Grande while attempting to gain access to the U.S.

"Here's what I think the father believed, 'If we can just make it across the Rio Grande, and I can put one foot in America, my child and myself are gonna be in America and we're not going to get sent back,'" Graham said.

Graham is correct to an extent. Yes the 'magnets' to come here must stop. That IS an absolute must!  Setting up a U.N. station within Mexico or other countries is a mistake.  Keep in mind that this is what's currently being done.  The U.N. is deciding who gets asylum and most importantly determines where they are going to be placed; including inside the U.S.  The U.N. should NOT decide who gets into this country.  That's why in part we have the current problem at the border.  The U.S. needs to be the one who decides who gets into our country period.

Perhaps we could put in a U.S. "asylum hub" somewhere in Mexico along the southern border, BUT there needs to be a maximum limit established.  Secondly, IF they don't qualify for asylum, then they need to go back and enter legally.

As I've stated before.  While the U.S. gets their act together on immigration policies, there needs to be a moratorium on ALL asylum and migration into this country.

No policy is going to be enforceable until we get a good solid barrier.   9999hair out0000

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

The magnets are the freebies.  He isn't specific enough.  What about Assylum laws?  And giving failed government money is not always the right thing to do.  I posted Gloria Alvarez video's yesterday.  They get into detail about the problems in Latin America.  Money isn't going to fix it.  And continuing to give freebies only draws them from one socialism to another.

Guatemala socialist country

GUATEMALA: Accidental Socialism. The most socialized country in the Western Hemisphere is the Central American Republic of Guatemala. It is also one of the few Latin American republics (according to New York Timesman W. H. Lawrence—TIME, Jan. 13) without a formal Communist party. Guatemala's socialism started by accident of war.

I don't know how throwing our money away on Latin American Socialist dictatorships will help stop illegal immigration.  What needs to be done is stop the freebies that draw these people who turned thier own countries into Socialist hell holes.  To stop them from doing the same here by saying no.  This isn't a Socialsis Country.  This is the United States of America where we work for what we earn.  We pay our bills by working hard.

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Grahams idea could have benefits in El Salvador where they have a new President.  Who does seem to be convincing that he want to make El Salvador a place where its citizens want to stay.  Who says he wants to stop gangs and violence.  Provide youth with better choices...………

I could see cautious relationship to send that country in the right direction.  With accountability.
