Ever since Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) called her out last week on her absurd comparison of border detention facilities to Nazi concentration camps, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been on a revenge mission to get back at her Congressional colleague for having the audacity to set the record straight.
Cheney addressed AOC in three different tweets over the issue on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. Ocasio-Cortez has devoted significantly more time to not only waffling back and forth on her own position on the detention facilities, but also in trying to blame Cheney for making a comparison to the Holocaust that AOC claims she herself never made.
As it turns out, Cheney has had enough of Ocasio-Cortez’s liberal tears and governing-by-Twitter, and the Wyoming Congresswoman called her out yesterday both for her remarks on the detention centers, and for also how she treats her job:
“I think that any member who suggested, as she did, that the camps on the U.S. border are concentration camps deserves that,†Cheney told reporters Tuesday during a press conference when asked why she has been such a vocal critic of her fellow freshman lawmaker. “That’s a comment that is clearly ludicrous, clearly something that must be responded to,†she added.

“I think that you should be in a position where rather than launching attacks like that, which are clearly political on their face, clearly misinformed, we all ought to be working to try to help the crisis at the border, both the security and the humanitarian crisis at the border. And she and many of her colleagues have now prevented us from bringing the bill to the floor that would do that 17 times,†the House Republican Conference chairwoman said. “So I think it’s very important we focus on the fact that this is real Congress, this isn’t model Congress, we have real work to do and we ought to be getting it done.â€
In other words, grow up, AOC.
