Kay Jewelers Store Refuses Service to Uniformed Deputy Because He Was Armed

A jewelry store in Statesville, North Carolina, would not allow an armed uniformed deputy to enter the store and pick up an engagement ring for his fiancée.

WBTV reported that the manager of the Kay Jewelers store told the deputy he could not come in with the gun on his hip. The deputy explained that he was on duty and was using his lunch break to pick up the ring.

Moreover, the deputy explained that he would be violating policy to go without his service sidearm while in uniform.

Plenty of time to purchase a ring from someone supporting the 2nd amendment.

Ask for a refund and announce the result.

Kay and Jared have nice things but our family has been supporting a mom and pop store for over 60 years.

I go to them for repairs, fixing watches, etc. they know our family and treat us really well.

It feels good to support a store with two branches that gives great service.

I doubt that. You have to believe someone in the jewelry store is armed and they probably have armed security. They just don't want their customers to be armed and it's beyond belief they wouldn't welcome a uniformed officer in their store especially considering the obvious deterrent to crime while they are in there.
