Well, that is one way to do it!

St. Louis, Missouri — The last remaining abortion clinic in Missouri says it expects to be shut down this week, effectively ending legal abortion in the state.

In a statement Tuesday, Planned Parenthood said Missouri's health department is "refusing to renew" its annual license to provide abortion in the state. If the license is not renewed by May 31, Missouri would become the first state without a functioning abortion clinic since 1973 when Roe v. Wade was decided.

Planned Parenthood would still be able to provide non-abortion health services for women in Missouri.

If there is a slant to an NPR story, apologies in advance, just taking this story. Pretty ground breaking.

Missouri Could Soon Become First State Without A Clinic That Performs Abortions
Sarah McCammon Twitter

Missouri is within days of losing its last remaining health center that provides abortions. Unless a court intervenes, it will become the first state in the nation without such a clinic.

Planned Parenthood officials say they are filing a lawsuit in state court Tuesday, asking for a restraining order to prevent its St. Louis clinic from being forced to stop offering the procedure after a state license expires Friday.

Planned Parenthood officials say they've been unable to reach an agreement with officials at the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, who want to require several doctors who perform abortions at the health center to submit to questioning as a condition of renewing the license.

Moving to "National", fairly important story.

Don't worry. A federal judge will surely order the state to allow you to keep doing what you do, with or without a license.

It's what federal judges do, and the states haven't done a thing about it to stop THEM because, to the legislatures, it's nothing but a wedge issue meant to distract from more practical issues.  *****rollingeyes*****

It's interesting, MO. law seems to require a certain number of Doctors there, PP couldn't provide that.

Probably because of this:

If you ask if their centers are accredited, they will tell you they are “self-accredited.” That means a group of people from their own Planned Parenthood affiliate comes into a couple of centers, looks around, and gives a stamp of “Planned Parenthood accreditation.” So, let me be clear: A group of Planned Parenthood employees enter a Planned Parenthood facility and give themselves a pat on a back and a faux accreditation….

If anything is a fake clinic, it is Planned Parenthood. They never have physicians even step on site unless they are there to perform abortions. In the eight years I worked at Planned Parenthood, our medical director never once graced us with his presence. Eight years with no direct medical supervision.

They simply pencil whip their own accreditations and call it a day.

Almost think this should be in the Prayer thread.

I believe a story was posted in the life news forum that somehow, they found a way to keep the clinic open. I have not closely read the article yet.

And the deaths of the women that have already occured at this clinic are repairable?
