Federal raids in San Antonio target Tango Orejón/Tango Blast gang

By Guillermo Contreras Updated 6:45 pm CDT, Tuesday, May 21, 2019

Federal agents conducted a raid Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in the 9200 block of Blind Lane in San Antonio.

Authorities raided several places in San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and McAllen on Tuesday, targeting more than 30 alleged members of a drug-trafficking ring, with some of them believed to be tied to the Tango Orejon gang.

Twenty of the targeted suspects were in San Antonio, including two alleged ringleaders, Ramon Salas Jr., 37, and Luis Godines, 39, court records show. The group is accused of trafficking large amounts of heroin, methamphetamine and fentanyl in southern Texas and San Antonio. The drugs were obtained from Mexican cartels, officials said.
