ANALYSIS/OPINION:

It is said that Washington is Hollywood for ugly people. That is, of course, an insult to homely people everywhere.

But if Washington is the Hollywood of anything, then the insufferably tedious White House Correspondents’ Association dinner held every year is, truly, the Oscars of Washington.

Every spring, frumpy, ink-stained wretches squeeze themselves into ridiculously mismatched tuxedos and sequined gowns straining at the seams and — I am not kidding — walk across a plush red carpet to the snapping and flashing of cameras.

Reporters were once hard working professionals. Today they mostly surf the Internet and pass along opinions and rumors dressed up as news. Today, they act as entitled, lazy elites; mad at us, the people, because we ain’t buying the sausage they’re selling.

The venom in the remarks directed at Trump and Sanders at last year's WHC dinner was revolting. These are no longer gentle digs at the president and members of his admin...these are outright nasty barbs intended to "speak truth to power" by the idot lib "comedians" selected for the event.
Time to close these self-congratulatory events down.

Not much we can do about them.  If the purveyors of public propaganda want to ostentatiously and publicly pat them selves on their backs about all we can do is add that to our assessment of their moral and ethical character.
