White House to screen controversial anti-abortion film NY Post, Apr 11, 2019
The Trump administration will be screening an anti-abortion film at the White House on Friday, according to reports.
The 2018 indie flick — “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer†— is based on the true story of Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, who is serving a life sentence for the murder of three babies that were born alive at his clinic.
The movie stars Earl Billings from “What’s Happening!!†and Dean Cain from “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.â€
“It’s a compelling story,†a senior White House official told Politico on Thursday.
The official said roughly 150 guests would be attending the screening. President Trump, however, is not expected to be there.
“This is a really important film,†explained Kristie Hamrick, spokeswoman for the anti-abortion group Students of Life for America, which will have members in attendance on Friday.
“The White House’s willingness to give it a voice is very powerful,†she said.
