OPINION: How Could The Intelligence Community Fail So Badly?
3:00 PM 03/29/2019 | Opinion
J. Michael Waller | Center for Security Policy

Far more than a failure of journalism, the Russia collusion narrative was, at its core, a monstrous failure of U.S. intelligence and counterintelligence.

All criticism of the news media aside for the moment, the bottom line is that professional journalists received fake intelligence information from U.S. government leakers whom they trusted.

The entire Russian collusion debacle shows that the American intelligence and counterintelligence processes have broken down.

Saying intelligence failed reminds me of Iraq but all intelligence across a number of countries said we'd find WMDs with Saddam. We did find some things but it doesn't really rise to the level of concern that we were looking for.

"How Could The Intelligence Community Fail So Badly?"

I can think of two reasons:
1. They ain't as "intelligent" as they think they are,
or
2. They're too smart for their own good.

It wasn't a failure. It was intentional misuse to misdirect resources that should have been investigating someone else and other, very real, crimes.

Those crimes were known to all the players in the investigation.

Those individuals bought time for the destruction of evidence of those crimes, UNDER COLOR OF LAW.

Those same people knew full well what they were doing, who they were doing it for, and did so as enemies of the People of the United States of America, hoping to overthrow a duly elected government.

There is only one word for such behaviour: TREASON.

Every one of them should be swinging from a gibbet, lamppost, or tree branch.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Let's see.

They're not on media constantly whoring for bucks to buy their offices back. We don't See them.

Therefore taking them Out of the Spotlight automatically raises their IQ by at least 100 points?

Come On! These are Govt employees.

Whatever gave Anyone the idea that they're 100 points smarter than the Elected Genus of these reprobates?

My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

Some understand while others are quite easily impressed.
Say Pentagon and many hear marching bands and see parades.
Mention CIA and FBI; and lots swoon about J.Edgar and Allan Dulles.
Cold reality is simple. These are DC bureaucracies infested w/the same
suspects present throughout the rest of the "establishment."

Far more than a failure of journalism, the Russia collusion narrative was, at its core, a monstrous failure of U.S. intelligence and counterintelligence.

Says a journalist, who just might have a bit less access to intelligence than the intelligence agencies.

Personally, I suspect there's a lot of political BS going on within our intelligence agencies.  But really, I don't know that.  I never will.  Nor will I take as fact that any failure(s) was not that of journalism, as reported by a journalist.
