Islamophobia is seeping into mainstream political discourse, with voters believing in conspiracy theories such as the ideas of Sharia ‘no go zones’ in Britain.

Research by Hope Not Hate showed that a third of Britons believe that such ‘no go zones’ exist, despite there not being any evidence. Among conservative voters, that figure rises to 47% and among Leave voters, it’s 49%.
