Sorry, but this is as much exaggerated hyperbole as the constant drum of 'this is the most important election of our lifetime' (every damn election).
We have faced so much in this country, frankly, far worse than we face now and have come out better and stronger.
On top of that, there is so much changing when it comes to technology and information, it is almost impossible to really predict even a year or two out how things would look or be. We are constantly being faced with disruptive events (black swan events). We are also seeing that people's opinions and views are changing faster and ideological burn-out takes place at a much more rapid pace.
Beck is right about how many groups on the left are coming together for common goals.....
BUT.....
...what he fails to see is how they are over-reaching and becoming almost parodies of themselves. Look at AOC. She went from a darling of the left to a joke within weeks. People even have Bernie fatigue with him becoming a joke in many ways with liberals.
I'm starting to see the gun control debate flip on the liberals too. With the shooting in New Zealand and the calls for gun control there, a new meme has popped up- that they are trying to 'disarm innocent Muslims, preventing them from defending themselves'. I am seeing a similar attitude in the gay community. The left is burning out some of their groups by swinging too far on certain issues.
Libertarian type movements are also starting to see great increases in numbers, and this is about as anti-socialist as you can get. Millennials aren't as liberal as people believe, they actually fall into the Libertarian side of thinking.
http://dupagelibertarians.org/blog/2017/12/28/why-millennials-are-more-libertarian-than-socialist/All of this adds up to a future that will be difficult to predict. But what I do believe is that the left is self destructing with their rapid swings and over-playing their hand.
