U.S. Spy Plane Scrambled Over Seoul

A U.S. spy plane was scrambled over the Seoul metropolitan and west coast areas again on Monday in the wake of a series of North Korean short-range missile tests.

"The RC-135W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft from the U.S. Forces Japan flew over the Seoul area and the West Sea," a military spokesman here said.

The plane is equipped with state-of-the-art optical and electronic sensors and communications equipment and capable of capturing remote signals generated when a ballistic missile is fired, raising fears that North Korea may be preparing another missile launch.
