ISIS jihadi vows “new conquests in the future. We will seek vengeance, there will be blood up to your knees.”

There are doubtless many Western analysts and foreign policy “experts” who believe that Islamic State jihadis will now return to normal lives, like ordinary soldiers of a conventional defeated army. These analysts do not recognize, or refuse to accept, that jihadis consider themselves to be only the latest wave in a 1,400-year war, a war they will pass on to their children and grandchildren. The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS shows that jihadis throughout history never give up and accept defeat, because their impetus to warfare is based on what they consider to be a divine imperative.
