President Trump on Tuesday accused top Democrats of losing their minds after House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler launched an investigation into Trump’s campaign, businesses, presidential transition and administration.
Nadler, D-N.Y., said Monday his committee has requested documents from 81 agencies, entities, and individuals that it believes has information connected to its investigation. But Trump claimed Democrats were only going after him because the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election so far hasn't found any evidence of collusion with Russia.
“Now that they realize the only Collusion with Russia was done by Crooked Hillary Clinton & the Democrats, Nadler, [House Intelligence Chairman Adam] Schiff and the Dem heads of the Committees have gone stone cold CRAZY,†Trump tweeted Tuesday.
“81 letter sent to innocent people to harass them," he added. They won’t get ANYTHING done for our Country!â€
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders called the investigation “disgraceful and abusive†Monday night.
Nadler has asked for a response to the committee’s document requests by March 18. Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, the president’s son-in-law and White House adviser Jared Kushner, and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange were among those contacted by the committee.
