Special Forces Will Soon Have a First of Its Kind Training Facility
23 Feb 2019
The Virginian-Pilot | By Jeff Hampton
MAPLE, N.C. -- A maritime center with a pool big enough to hold a small ship and simulate hurricane conditions is set to open in Currituck County in two years. It will serve to train groups such as special forces, law enforcement and offshore wind crews.
It could be the first of its kind in the world.
The facility costing more than $25 million would be built on 25 acres at the county's industrial complex next to the airport off U.S. 158 in Maple. It is expected to open in 2021 attracting more than 6,000 trainees the first year, said Scott Chierepko, cofounder of BEI Maritime.

First of all,it has NOTHING to do with Special Forces.
I have no doubt that Navy SEALS will love to play there, though, even though no matter what they claim,it is going to be mostly USCG and LEO's splashing in the water.
