One person has been killed and 12 are injured after Venezuelan troops opened fire on civilians trying to keep a border checkpoint open for aid deliveries.

Troops arrived at a checkpoint set up by an indigenous community in Kumarakapai, on Venezuela's southern border with Brazil early this morning.

But when civilians tried to block military vehicles, soldiers opened fire shooting 12 and killing a woman named as  Zorayda Rodriguez, 42.

The villagers are believed to have been trying to keep open a section of the border so that aid could be moved into the area from Brazil.

Notice how severely communist nations control 'their' borders...keeping innocent citizens in and aid out.... but the USA shouldn't be allowed to control our borders to keep illegals and terrorists out.  The usual illogical disconnect whenever leftist "thinking" is involved.

It could be quite an eventful day.

Also, some links to video here of the aid caravans going in  http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,352417.0.html

or just go to Senator Rubio's twitter.  https://twitter.com/MarcoRubio

Concert day in Cucuta Colombia, will see how this goes. Branson putting on the show.

Roger Waters, Pink Floyd is active for the dictator side, one can look him up. I don't care to give him much attention. I saw him tweet some on this.

Ehh..... Branson is promoting Guaido, which is also the side the US/Trump is supporting.  But...

I can't get over the fact that Branson is close buds with Obama.  And my spidey sense is bristling now over Guaido for some reason.  Could be the resemblance that is creeping me out...(the Latin Obama?)....

As long as we are fighting communists, I don't care who joins in to fight against such evil.

I saw that we have gotten 260,000 of the refugees out of Venezuela, one would even hardly know this from the news.

The question is.... how do we know that Guaido isn't just another (Soros funded and controlled) Obama, Latin style...?  I guess we're about to find out.

Count is 2 dead now. Guiado himself went to Richard Branson, Guiado has apparently agreed to free elections quickly,  if the Maduristas are tossed out.

With the Venezuelan military against Guiado.... and without US (or any other nation) intervention and help.... do you really think Guiado will prevail?  I don't.  And it's not like the Venezuelan people can mount an armed resistance.  So what do you think will happen here, Tom?

Easy, some military has already defected. It won't be easy but I don't think it will result in bloodshed of American soldiers, maybe not much bloodshed at all.

So you don't think Trump will order a military intervention?

I think if there is a military action, those involved will primarily be Colombian and Brazilian troops with the USA mostly in advisory roles.  I would doubt if we would be even making airstrikes. We will see how much pressure can be applied, sanctions,  embargoes and so on.

I am no expert,  maybe we would act militarily. One bill on this situation left out any chance of US troops being used FWIW.

No change since East-West Germany in the 1950s-1980s.

I Believe Americans (including true conservatives) were more aware of the issue, then versus now.

XenaLee asked:
"So you don't think Trump will order a military intervention?"

I was promoting U.S. military intervention to overthrow Maduro and the communists before anyone else in this forum.

I believe there WILL be military action (by us) to clean out the Venezuelan commies, and I predict that whatever resistance their army puts up, ain't gonna last very long. Grenada on a larger scale.

I've got this feelin' that the ordinary citizens of that country will welcome U.S. troops, as well...!

@XenaLee   @Fishrrman

I don't think we will intervene militarily but Rubio (again, no endorsement, good source) tweeted:

ALERT:
Over the last few hours seeing movements underway by #MaduroRegime to use Pro-Regime gangs & narco-terror group ELN, dressed as civilians, to steal aid & attack unarmed civilians. No one in opposition is armed. Any violence in hours to come will be from the regime. #23F

And tweeted earlier:

Marco Rubio Retweeted Elyangelica González

4 soldiers being held by the Pemón indigenous community after the murder of two civilians by security forces. One of them has a message for her superiors:

“do not take violent action against indigenous community in order to rescue her. She wants a better country for her son.”

https://twitter.com/marcorubio/status/1099142351627472896

These two things he says really shows a breakdown of law and order... so, if things got really sticky, who knows?   Anyway, the two people killed earlier today were part of some Indian tribe. Not good.

Marco Rubio Retweeted Natxel De Jesús

Tense situation developing on the #Venezuela #Brazil border. Reports that indigenous people in the region just burned the National Guard post at the airport after two members of their community were murdered this morning by soldiers.

This was the tweet I meant to post, if someone, the indigenous people,  burns down a National Guard post,  obviously, this is serious and a break down in the law and order.  If the people are defenseless? Anyway, a situation to watch and Rubio seems to give a lot of play-by-play.

I wonder if much of this is really going on? I think so, I've seen and read enough.  The thing is, in Latin America, you already are going to have a bit of this. Venezuela though, use to be very well off everyone says and I believe it.

Trash picking.
