For someone who never held elective office before the presidency, Donald Trump has made some savvy political moves during these first 25 months in office, many of them aimed at earning another 48 months in this job come 2020.  Of course, his undisciplined remarks often create stumbles, handing opponents openings and verbal ammo to use against him, though few of those seem to have left lasting marks so far.

But a recent astute move came in probably the most-quoted part of his 5,100-word State of the Union address earlier this month.

The president had scorned Venezuela’s slide into turmoil and chaos under President Nicolas Maduro “whose socialist policies have turned that nation from being the wealthiest in South America into a state of abject poverty and despair.”

Then, Trump brought that news home for the nearly 47 million viewers watching live:

This is the big issue of our time.  We need to concentrate on defeating any trace of socialism.

My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

You're losing that fight badly. People like Bernie are becoming more and more popular.

This is the big issue of our time.  We need to concentrate on defeating any trace of socialism.

First, you have to define it for the public. Then, the fight needs to be against the concept of “free” and how expensive free is. Screaming “Socialism” isn’t enough.

An example of conservatism winning happened in CO with their attempt at single payer in 2016. It was on the state ballot, both sides made their case, and it was soundly defeated by a huge margin. Even the liberal enclave of Denver said no. But these battles can only be won through conservatives educating the public.
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

I think his detractors on the right, are aghast, stunned, but looking inward they must admit Trump simply bested them, when GHW Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain, Milt Rominy, and the2016-- 16 dwarfs could not.

Think of it. They couldhave blown the socialism thing, and Trumpy is getting a chance to win with it.

If I were the regents or alumni of the universities in this county, I would be embarrassed to be producing students of such ignorance and naïve notions. Like mindless sheep, they march with painted faces and trite sayings on signs, blissfully ignorant of the world they live in, and the system that protects them, hoping maybe to make the evening news. Perhaps if they had spent more time in class they would have learned that those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.

True, but if you think back 50 years: that's exactly what today's university regents, professors and alumni were doing themselves.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Evergreen college is a public school in Washng ton.

There was a major incident with the social justice warriors. Bret Weinstein and his wife Heather Heying, both popular tenured professors, were essentially run of the campus by students, while the President looked on.

Following the incident, enrollment dropped badly and financial problems are now taking form.

The Left has been very astute in infiltrating higher education, where they turn out fresh young socialist school teachers and political scientists, who then run for office and win on the votes of their indoctrinated peers.

All this while the right has been asleep. But, I think that the election of Trump represents people awakening to the problems that both parties – but particularly democrats, pose.

Really, man, do you write that with a straight face?

"Students of ignorance and naive notions" are EXACTLY "the product" that the leaders of these universities are endeavouring to foist upon us.

See:
Antonio Gramsci
The Frankfurt School.
Herbert Marcuse and "critical theory".

The colleges are churning out the mindless sheep according to plan!

That’s true, but the erosion of the education system has made them a growing problem.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.
