WaPo Super Bowl ad demonstrates exactly what's wrong with the media
By Rick Moran

The Washington Post sponsored an ad during the Super Bowl that may have been the most pretentious, the most exaggerated paean to the religion of journalism ever created.  They call it "Democracy dies in darkness," and it features a grand, sweeping musical score and actor Tom Hanks seriously intoning the importance, the necessity, and the need to worship journalism.

When we go off to war.

    When we exercise our rights.

When we soar to our greatest heights.

It's a really difficult narrative. The narrative should be "When you criticize journalists, you put them in danger" but they are constantly criticizing Fox News.

How about "When you criticize  "journalist" you are putting them on notice that you are aware of their damned constant lies!"
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Journalist do have a very inflated view of themselves.  I suppose that could be said about any profession.  Even register nurses have an inflated view of themselves.

I support a Free Press. I support journalists doing their jobs free of government oversight. But they are human beings like everybody else with their flaws and their biases and are open to criticism
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

They also have bosses and if they don't say/write what's required they will find themselves unemployed damn quick!

Nobody, even most liberal "journalists" think they're biased. Remember when someone asked Dan Rather where he thought the NYSlimes lay politically, and he answered middle of the road?
In short, most lib mediaites have no idea how perched they are on the left side of the abyss.
So why I think much of what comes out of Donald Trump's piehole is self-aggrandizing blather, he's right about the media.  Much of what they print/broadcast is fake.
But again, their biggest sin is NOT printing/airing news not favorable to the leftist agenda. For instance, there are no lib scribblers/fraudcasters publicly wondering if the Smollett incident might be fake given the tremendous numbers of hoaxes in the news lately.
But, of course, they have an agenda to push...Evil Whitey constantly doing bad things to minorities, and stories like Smollett's help keep it going. Even after they're found to be hoaxes as Smollett's tale will almost surely turn out to be.
