Air Force committing billions to rebuild Tyndall AFB after Hurricane Michael
By Staff Writer| February 4th, 2019|Military News, U.S. Air Force|0 Comments

Air Force officials say it is going to cost billions to rebuild the Air Force base in the panhandle of Florida that was devastated by Hurricane Michael this year.

The assistant secretary of the Air Force for installations, environment, and energy announced the Tyndall Air Force Base reconstruction plans, stating the Air Force would commit $3 billion to rebuild the base over five years, according to the Associated Press.

Footage of the base in October showed the hurricane tore roofs from airplane hangars and cars tossed around.

According to News4Jax, the base was struck by a tornado last month that did even more damage than the hurricane.
