NFL Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk handed Scientology its most visible public boost in a long time yesterday by appearing on the Fox News morning program “Fox & Friends” to plug the Church of Scientology’s front group Foundation for a Drug-Free World ahead of this weekend’s Super Bowl game.

I didn't realize that Marshall had fallen under the spell of the Scientology Cult.

Next thing you know, he'll be living in a condo next door to Tom Cruise in Clearwater. They sure do love their celebrities.

Downtown Clearwater is virtually a ghost town because Scientology has bought up all the buildings.  They have all these fancy buildings with no one in them.

Yes, that's apparent from Leah Remini's "Scientology: The Aftermath," on A&E Tuesday nights. The last two episodes have dealt with how Scientology essentially destroyed downtown Clearwater, as well as peoples' lives.

On the same show, but a different episode, they showed how Scientology has started to creep into and influence the Nation of Islam.

Yes it was, but of course, it all comes down to the almighty dollar, doesn't it?

I vacation in Clearwater Beach every year.  Had a talk with an Uber driver there about the Scientologists.  He claimed politicians welcomed the cult because it was going to revitalize the downtown, blah blah blah.  .  People were wary, but of course, politicians don't care  what the people think as long as there is money to be made. Now the damm cult is all over.  I think he said some members are in city government and people who want to get them out can't do it.

Seems the cult has been largely unsuccessful in taking over the beach, at least for now, but I keep thinking I may have to find another destination for my annual vacation.

That's what they promised. They haven't delivered.

I was on the fringes of it about 30 years ago. Took a couple of classes, figured out it was a cult and dropped it like a hot potato. They still send memailings every 5-6 months even though I have moved 4 times since. It is a cult, make no mistake. They don't wear saffron robes and hang out at the airport, buttheya re a cult.

They bought their way into NOI. It was an odd pairing but NOI is an odd group anyway. They are also invested in UFOology.

Scientology is one of those beliefs that you would consider crazy if you ever really thought about it but the followers don't think. It's not only a cult, it is a dangerous cult centered on the principle of "The End Justifies The Means" with the money to actually make the bad results go away. I believe they would easily justify murder to protect the cult. When you have 100 members, that isn't such a problem.
