N.J. Sen. Cory Booker joins 2020 race for president

Feb. 1 (UPI) -- New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker announced Friday he's seeking the 2020 Democratic nomination for president.

Booker jumped into the race by emailing supporters with an announcement video.

NJ.com, the state's largest news website, called Booker one of the Democratic Party's most dynamic speakers with the strong ability to rally people to causes. His defining moments on the Senate judiciary committee in the hearings to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was cheered by liberals and jeered by Republicans.

Just one more clown to the fray.  This bring HR Clinton closer to her announcement.  More clowns, the merrier for her.  I give it 1-2 more months, all the clowns will have announced for fear the other clown acts will get an edge in a race that is already determined.

If HRC thought she had a fix last time, believe me, with 10-25 Dems to split the never Clinton vote, she breezes through the clown act like a hot knife through butter.  Breezes through!

Thank you Corey.  Fact is I want Clinton again as the Democommie candidate.  For when Trump spanks her and wins 40 states, the Democommie Party is set further back as a bunch of moron losers, as well they should.

None of these clowns announcing has anything rolling around in their brains but marbles, looney as they could get.  America just does not have a lot of sane politicians at present.  A disgrace considering we have a population of 330 million.

New Jersey Sen. Cory “Call Me Spartacus” Booker is running for president, to the surprise of no one.

In a political era that seems long ago, Booker was one of the more interesting figures in the Democratic Party.   He began his career by taking on an established Democratic machine, failing in his first bid to be mayor of Newark.  ...

During the 2012 presidential campaign, Booker didn’t just murmur disagreements with the way the Obama campaign attacked Mitt Romney’s work in the private sector, he denounced it.

“I have to just say, from a very personal level, I’m not about to sit here and indict private equity,” he said. “To me, it’s just we’re getting to a ridiculous point in America, especially that I know I live in a state where pension funds, unions and other people are investing in companies like Bain Capital. If you look at the totality of Bain Capital’s record, they’ve done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses.”

But within a few days, Booker backtracked almost completely. It was a key early indicator Booker was willing to defy his party to stand up for what he believed was right . . . until it became difficult. ...

After previously cosponsoring legislation with Jeff Sessions, Booker chose to testify against his confirmation to be attorney general, the first time in Senate history that a sitting senator testified against another sitting senator for a cabinet post during a confirmation. By 2018, Booker insisted that supporters of Brett Kavanaugh were “complicit in evil” — and this was before the allegations of Christine Blasey Ford were revealed.

Now he’s trying to out-#Resistance the rest of the Democratic field, who are all attempting to metamorphize into the ultimate anti-Trump. The painful irony is that early-stage Booker would stand out in this giant field of candidates, offering a genuinely different option as a more pragmatic problem-solver, willing to defy liberal orthodoxy in search of solutions that worked best.

As the investigation and eventual nomination progressed for Judge Kavanaugh, a story buried in the past was brought back to light, but not against the Supreme Court nominee. Fox News and many other news outlets released reports that Cory Booker was the one with an admitted sexual assault on his record, not Judge Kavanaugh.

In 1992, Senator Booker wrote in the Stanford Daily Newspaper how he groped a female friend on New Year’s Eve in 1984. Booker spoke blatantly of his conquest and the tune of the ‘Top Gun’ theme in his head.  ...
