If you do not vote or if you vote third party against Republicans then you are by default, "logically and factually" voting for a Democrat.

That thought had crossed my mind, that the SOTU address was important to him, enough to make him change his mind.

Logic extends a little further than that... If you vote for the lesser evil you get evil, just a little less, you hope. Until you are willing to not vote for the lesser evil in significant numbers will you get a choice of something other than the lesser evil.

The stupidity is self evident. You voted for what you got. And this is the consequence. You assuage yourself that it would have been worse with the other guy. That's all you have. Many Briefers, like me, realizing the intricacies of the Electoral College knew Trump was gonna take all the Electors in Texas and decided to send the GOP another message, as I did in 2012, Screw You and your lousy candidates. I voted Constitution Party.
