Rep. Zoe Lofgren & Sen. Dianne Feinstein Introduce Ag Amnesty Bill

Fri, Jan 18th 2019 @ 2:58 pm EST

Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) have introduced legislation that would provide a permanent amnesty to certain illegal farm workers in the United States. Under the legislation, qualifying illegal-alien farm workers would receive a temporary work permit to continue farm work. They would be eligible for green cards after three years.

Under the Agricultural Worker Program Act, illegal-alien farm workers who have worked in agriculture for at least 100 days in the past two years can receive a work permit. Depending on the hours worked, the farm workers can earn a green card after three or five years.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Oh, hell, no.

The reason the farm-workers programs worked in the past was because they had to go home off-season.  That meant they didn't establish a home here, didn't tap into welfare, didn't request a SSN so that they could get earned income credits, etc.
