Big deal that never got reported:

Last week, House GOP voted to pay federal employees their 1st paycheck of 2019, despite shutdown. Only 6 Dems voted with us. It failed.

Dem priority is not paying workers or opening gov't. It is opposing Trump.

I can't remember which Congressperson it was that I heard, but he pointed out that this law would apply to every shutdown going forward, which would add the non-essential federal employee payroll to the automatic budget category and remove that as a negotiating tool going forward.

I was thinking the same thing.  Perhaps if not at the SOTU, make a public address to the people to let them know the progress or lack thereof on the shutdown.  The People both Republican and DEM need to hear something positive going on in all this mess.

They vote no to paychecks TWICE, the President's proposal isn't worth debating, they deny the President access to the House for the SOTU and leave town.  I'm starting to hate them.
