The Broadcast Networks Will Carry President Trump’s Prime Time Address Live From the Oval Office
TV Newser, Jan 7, 2019

It appears that broadcast is following cable’s lead by taking President Trump’s Tuesday night address live from the Oval Office.

CBS was the first broadcast network to announce that they’re taking the address. According to CBS, the address is set to start at 9:01:30 p.m. ET and “run no longer than 8 minutes,” per the White House.

When the address is complete, CBS will break into its regularly-scheduled Tuesday, 9 p.m. program: FBI.

CBS says that according to The White House, “topics will be the partial government shutdown, the crises on the border and the midnight deadline for federal paychecks.”

The Special Report will be anchored in New York by CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor. Major Garrett and Nancy Cordes will be available from DC. Ed O’Keefe will be available in New York.

ABC, NBC, Fox Broadcasting and MSNBC are taking the address as well. Lester Holt will anchor an NBC News Special Report tomorrow at 9 p.m.  Shepard Smith will anchor coverage on Fox Broadcasting.

ABC News has not confirmed who will be anchoring the ABC News Special Report, but one would think it will either be George Stephanopoulos or David Muir.
