Being 50, it's just hard to go out anymore. Nothing against the Milllenials, but my generation went out and partied to blow off steam from work, school, family, whatever. Work hard during the week, let it out on the weekends. It was more afterthought than planning, basically 'just get me out of the house, I'm going crazy'.
The younger generation has turned all that into almost it's own culture, reinforced by smartphone social media network and weird little unspoken rules. Not that I don't enjoy being around them, but I don't feel like I can be myself in the night life scene, because I'm the 'old guy'. Many have a real obsession with age that comes off as not really wanting 'old people' out in a social setting.
And I'm happy to oblige them. I really don't need to be around that snooty crap anyway.
