SDF captures key town from ISIS in east Deir Ezzor (map)

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:40 P.M.) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured a key town in the Euphrates River Valley region of the Deir Ezzor Governorate after a fierce battle with the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group.

Backed by U.S airstrikes, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to overpower the last Islamic State fighters inside the town of Abu

The Islamic State was ultimately forced to give up Abu Khater once the Syrian Democratic Forces reached the town-center and began surrounding the remaining terrorists in the area.
