Trump also tweeted that Bush's "accomplishments were great from beginning to end. He was a truly wonderful man and will be missed by all!"

Former President Barack Obama said in a statement that Bush's legacy of public service "may never be matched, even though he'd want all of us to try."

The Clintons said in a statement that "[f]ew Americans have been—or will ever be—able to match President Bush’s record of service to the United States and the joy he took every day from it."

I really just think it's a respect thing dude. When the Red Baron was shot down the allied air force celebrated his greatness and commended him for being a valiant foe.

I'm not surprised.  George HW Bush talked about the need for a New World Order in over 200 speeches.  He was a Globalist;  that's why the Left liked him at the bottom line.  (Also, he was an operator for the CIA way back in the 1960s.  He later denied this, but he was obviously a spook.)

Bush may have been many things but the label 'gifted legend' is hysterical.
He was a time server, like Prescott,  who "did politics". Period!
A local failure in Conn, he upped sticks to Texas where he continued his electoral
defeats until Reagan brought him back from the dead, two generations ago.

in the mold of Rockefeller and Scranton. So who is heaping praise on him?
