As science progresses in our modern world, we as a human race will need to begin drawing some ethical and moral lines that we weren’t anticipating.

As science progresses in our modern world, we as a human race will need to begin drawing some ethical and moral lines that we weren’t anticipating.

Such is the nature of life and of change.  We move forward until we find what’s comfortable and correct, and then we begin to address a new problem.  In some instances, these problems are small, compartmentalized, and low gravity, so to speak.  In other instances, we find ourselves standing at the crossroads between free will and the power of the universe at large.

Such is the case in China today, as reports indicate that scientists have delivered the world’s first genetically engineered human children.

China baby gene editing claim 'dubious'

Significant doubts have emerged about claims from a Chinese scientist that he has helped make the world's first genetically edited babies.

Prof He Jiankui says the twin girls, born a few weeks ago, had their DNA altered as embryos to prevent them from contracting HIV.

His claims, filmed by Associated Press, are unverified and have sparked outrage from the scientists, who have called the idea monstrous.
