I think the problem is a large number of Democrats and Republicans are bought off by monied interests. We need to make safeguards that make it more difficult to bribe our politicians.

The link was specifically Lindsey Graham.  He has been opposing Trumps immigration from the start.  Everyone should read the article.  He is still Grahamnesty.  It isn't a secret.  He goes on FOX talking amnesty for dreamers and when asked about stopping the other things like chain migration he says no, keep it simple.  In that link it was at the time when Trump had said he wouldn't sign another bill but he did.

I listened to Trump building Lindsey up in Mississippi last night.  Its a lie.  Kavanaugh did not win the vote because of Lindsey Graham getting angry.  It was still a party line vote that would have happened anyway.  Behind the scenes is the true Lindsey.  Still standing in the way of border security.  A illegal immigrants dream.

I'm not sure that there is anyone that frequently posts here, that votes DEM.

President Trump and the GOP have a really rough 2 years ahead of them as well as the American people.  God help us if the GOP loses in 2020.

Maybe not @libertybele but there are plenty of people on this forum who regularly diss both Trump and the GOP.

Apparently those people have not kept up with the goals of the democrat party lately.

And then, there are the holier than thou people who refuse to compromise their principles to vote for anyone who either isn't perfect or isn't exactly like them.

The worst oversight of the founding fathers was not creating term-limits from the beginning. Congress was supposed to be 'public service'. They were suppose to make a subsistence salary. It was never intended to be a lifelong career, turning Congress into a body of millionaires, 10 or 100 times over.

The reason the founding fathers didn't bother with term-limits is because it never occurred to them that people would want to stay. They left their homes, and farms, and family, to do it as a civic duty. They couldn't wait to get back home.

But then, Congress discovered that they could vote in their own salaries, benefits, vacations, and their own rules that govern them. And now we have the utterly corrupt mess we have today. Almost all of Congress is in the upper 1% of wealthy Americans, they have benefits and vacations that no normal American could ever dream of, and they do not have to live by the laws they create for the peasant class.

Essentially, over time they have voted themselves a little privileged utopia on Capitol Hill. And nobody is allowed inside their dream world, nobody can enter their fantasy bubble world unless they approve it. Or so they thought until Trump happened. Now they are all frantically trying to restore their very exclusive dominance, like the so called cool-kids in high school. And they seem to be winning.

Sounds like a good reason for a Convention of States to affect changes that those inept politicians won’t do themselves.
