Graham set to take over Judiciary
By Alexander Bolton - 11/16/18 11:38 AM EST

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is poised to become the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) announced Friday that he would step down to take over the chairmanship of the Finance Committee.

The shuffle would put Graham, a close ally of President Trump who made headlines this fall with a forceful denunciation of Democrats during Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation hearings, in charge of the panel handling judicial nominations.

Graham is up for reelection in 2020.

The South Carolina Republican will also have jurisdiction over the Department of Justice and Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump administration.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

I wonder what woke him up?  Did he finally realize his palling around with McStain made him a laughingstock?

I wonder how long he will stay "woke". I would have felt a lot better if someone like Cruz or Lee were Chairman.

That Cruz was a SCOTUS clerk, and argued as Solicitor General in front of SCOTUS, this makes more sense to me as well.

"Seniority" is still everything in both Chambers of Congress.

Graham was a judge but Mike Lee, Cruz, a number of those Senators would or might do. This might take him out of consideration for AG, for now. Perhaps, he's been a Senator for longer than the others.

He will stay 'woke' until 2020 at least.  And when he's 'woke' he's really something.

This could be significant if Ginsburg croaks in 2020.  Grassley promised to adhere to the Biden rule.  Now that impediment is gone.

Yes, I'd prefer Cruz as well. But if Lindsey 2.0 stays woke, it will be a delight.

I can't believe that people are so gullible.  Meet Lindsey same as old Lindsey.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.
