It is still up in the air whether a small group of Tarrant Republicans will succeed in a controversial plan to oust a leader of their party because he’s Muslim.

Tarrant Republican precinct chairs met for nearly four hours Saturday — and considered the issue behind closed doors for more than an hour — before adjourning without voting on the proposal.

“There was no vote on this today,” Tarrant Republican Chair Darl Easton said after the group adjourned, noting that the issue will come up again at a January meeting. “The for and against speakers (never) got exhausted.”

Bad move.. We should welcome a lot of people into the GOP. Even Muslims.

Tough call. What does a political party that generally considers itself the last hope for our Constitutionally based form of government do with people who advocate for a foreign totalitarian theocratic system?

Having lived in Tarrant Co  for over 14 years (this last stint)  I can tell you the Muzzies "immigrating" in Tarrant Co are in no way, and in no how wanting to assimilate to Texas or America. It is a GD sad shame they are infesting that area in the name of diversity.

So....Satanists?
What about liberals who openly advocate the overturning of every GOP principle?

Point being is we should not welcome lots of people in.  We should welcome people in who espouse the same love of Liberty and country that are bedrocks of conservatism....and that ain’t followers of the pedophile or his made up God.

Taqiyya...learn it...

“If he said yes, he’s still mess with your head. These dawah guys are very good. As to the S-T branding the TCGOP as a bunch of bigots or racists, they don’t need an excuse, they do it already. We’re patriots who don’t allow jihadists to play in the fields of the lord.”

Uh, political parties are not "the field of the Lord."

The patriot should know that.

If this guy has the same core values like we do, then why kick him out?

kevindavis asks:
"If this guy has the same core values like we do, then why kick him out?"

Because he's a muslim, and to "be muslim" means to reject those "core values" that we embrace.

The alternative:
Invite him to convert to Christianity (or ANY other religion).

islam is incompatible with Western civilization.
muslims who are in dar al-harb should return to dar al-islam (if you don't understand what those two terms mean, you'd better find out).
If they won't go voluntarily -- then effect "return" by whatever means are required.

Sounds like these Tarrant "Republicans" have lost their nerve, and their common-sense compass...

I don't think this guy should be kicked out for being muslim. The party should focus on serious matters like keeping Jews, Blacks and Hair Dressers out.....just like they always have.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Is being a Muslim a criminal act?

At the risk of being labeled a pro-Muslim sympathizer, I agree.  I have a friend in Germany who is a Muslim. She isn't religious, she dresses in Western clothing.  We send stuff back and forth to each other sometimes.  I send her Dunkin Donuts coffee and junk food; she sends me chocolate.

So because you have a muslim pen pal you don't think these folks have an argument for what they are up to?

Typical pro-muslim sympathizer.

@CatherineofAragon

We are several miles to Fort Worth; know that area well.
This doctor has an agenda:
Citizen in 2009.  Lives is an exclusive/rich area, Southlake.  Got himself to be on Southlake City Council.  What is wrong with this picture?  Trauma Surgeon wants to be on City Council.  Isn't being a trauma doctor takes up all his time?

Now, he wants to be Republican Party Vice-Chair of Tarrant County.  Isn't that too much for a Trauma surgeon?

Plus, he says he has never heard of Sharia Law.
There is something wrong with this picture.

Perhaps he wants to be Muslim President of Texas.
