Will Democrats Overplay Their (Relatively Weak) Hand?

Election Results: There's no question that Democrats had a good night on Tuesday. But it was nowhere near what the resistance crowd had hoped. The question now is: Can the party resist its angry base demanding retribution, or try to act like adults and get things done?

When it comes to wave elections, this one wasn't. Not by a long shot.

In 1994 — two years into Bill Clinton's first term — Republicans gained a stunning 54 seats to take control of the House, and 9 to take control of the Senate.

Taking a page from Ann Richards, "they can't hep themselves."

If Nancy Pelosi is elected Speaker, after nearly 60 House Democrats said they could no longer support her, then there will be no doubt that gridlock will ensue for the next two years.

Newly elected Democrats, who ran as centrists and "bipartisans", will have a tough time explaining their first vote.

They won't care and won't explain, they operate on the belief that their constituents are idiots who will
A. Believe anything they are told
B. Forget anything they were told by the time the next election rolls around.

Soooooo, they operate on the same belief system as Republicans.

They think this is their moment. They are convinced they are about to end Trump's presidency with a house majority.
