have met Cruz over a friend's house during Senate runoff 6 yrs ago. Could not be a nicer, more sincere guy around.
You are way off base and reading tabloids instead oF trying to really see and hear him.
I have no debate with what you experienced
@IsailedawayfromFR But your experience doesn't guarantee it translates the same way to the general public.
Here's what I just don't understand: The Republicans/Conservatives showed up. They checked the box for Abbott. Right below it was a box for Ted Cruz. Why didn't they check it? Cruz's margin of victory should have been 10% or more ... just based on this.
But the majority who voted for Abbott made a conscious, deliberate choice NOT to vote for Cruz. If it's because Beto and the media worked their dark magic against Cruz, then Texans don't know the man. It would behoove (I love this word) Cruz to fix this. Spend more time in Texas. Go to diners, bring the one-on-one experience you had to the voters --- when it's not in the middle of a campaign. Talk to them, let them get to know him. Because if what you're saying is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, Cruz is a stranger to the people in Texas -- and this means anyone can define him.
Anyway, he won. And for that we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
