Chants of ‘Vote! Vote! Vote!’ break out at Pittsburgh synagogue vigil

A “Vote! Vote! Vote!” chant broke out during a vigil held Sunday night for the victims of the mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue.

Tree of Life congregation Rabbi Jeffrey Myers reportedly called on political leaders to set the example as he spoke to the crowd of more than 2,000 people.

His remarks sparked chants of “Vote! Vote! Vote!” amongst the audience, according to CBS 2 in Pittsburgh.

Myers added that the path to choosing good over hate starts with speech.

“It starts with one simple step. Just stop the hate. Don’t say it. Zip the lip. Just don’t say it. It just takes one person to make that difference,” Myers said.
