The accusations and venom from the left who are jumping all over this story is epic-and predictable. It seems to me that video surveillance and other forensics should have led the FBI to the perps by now.

That "bomb" looks untouched by any bomb squad like the sole purpose was to stage it for the photo.   Why would one take a photo of a supposedly still live and deadly explosive device?  The photo looks staged.

When i lived up north, my Uncle in the Sheriff's dept. hung out with two of the guys from the bomb squad. They told me that they took pictures of the bombs to have a record. These could be used later if similar devices showed up and then used in a trial when/ if the perpetrator was caught.

The timer might have been deactivated, and the photo used for documentation prior to further inspection.  These appear to have been poorly constructed devices with explosives, or else made to look poorly constructed.  Someone might have believed that running a current through gunpowder would make it explode.  Or that they ran a heating element through the center that they thought would ignite the charge.  Many people don't know much about explosives.
