Did Gorka leave the Trump administration over Afghanistan? I know, we were thinking about withdrawing but if I remember correctly, Mattis and others wanted to stay. I remember at one time, Iraq was very violent. Now, it has been somewhat subdued.  That was the risk, stay there and see soldiers die for the cause.

Breaking: Sebastian Gorka Resigns From Trump Administration
August 25, 2017 By Mollie Hemingway

Gorka’s letter expressed unhappiness with the direction the Trump administration’s foreign policy has taken, as signaled by the president’s recent speech on Afghanistan:

“Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will ‘Make America Great Again,’ have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months. This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week…

“The fact that those who drafted and approved the speech removed any mention of Radical Islam or radical Islamic terrorism proves that a crucial element of your presidential campaign has been lost…

Gorka on Developing Afghan Strategy: ‘We Want to Start from Scratch’

1 Aug 2017636
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American people should expect President Donald Trump’s Afghanistan war strategy to primarily address why the United States remains engaged in the nearly 16-year-old war, Breitbart News has learned from the White House.

“First the question is: what is the U.S. national interest in Afghanistan? When we understand that, then we can tell you what our presence in Afghanistan will be like,” explained Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a deputy assistant to the president in the office of the chief strategist.

“Is it going to be small special forces outposts? Is it going to be training locals to defend themselves or is it going to be something else? Let’s get the big questions right,” he added.

Why are we still there?

A better question is how did we forget to do what we once did?

The US pacified, occupied Germany and Japan for decades.

Initially we "denazified" Germany, which was intensive detail work and record keeping.

The same contemporary American military with the brilliant wisdom of homosexuals and transsexuals serving, seems unable to remember "lessons learned."

The only way to "pacify" Afghanistan would be to obliterate the entire nation.
Wouldn't look too much different than it does right now!
