White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders likely violated ethics regulations when she posted a photo on her official White House Twitter account of Kanye West wearing a MAGA hat, a watchdog group charged.

West’s hat touts President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” Sanders posed with the rapper for the photo after his wild appearance in the Oval Office Thursday with Trump.

The group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a complaint Friday with the Office of Special Counsel, accusing Sanders of violating the Hatch Act. The act forbids federal employees from using their influence, position, work resources or social media accounts to affect the “results of an election.”

The special counsel determined earlier this year that once Trump declared he was running for re-election, any “display” of Trump’s MAGA campaign slogan by a federal employee is a violation of the Hatch Act.

Um.... except that.... Sanders wasn't the one wearing the MAGA hat.  And unless they know something that we don't... ie that Trump hired Kanye in some federal employee capacity...

they got nothing... per usual. 

But nice stretch.

Well if you want to adopt CFRE's tortured interpretation of the Hatch Act, you may have something.

I'd also fire back to them that the law was not meant to be weaponized for some partisan leftist group's political gain.

I'm guessing there were many similar instances within the Obama admin that the CFRE convieniently overlooked.

And.... isn't it funny.... how certain people (even right here on this forum)....

will call it "hate" if or when any criticism AT ALL of Trump is pointed out or mentioned.  Certain people that have a lot more in common with the same people that are 'turning on a dime' re: Kanye.
