The idea that thinking that Roy Moore was a bad candidate and also thinking that Kavanaugh is being railroaded is "hypocrisy" is absolutely LUDICROUS.
You are right, @CatherineofAragon . Thinking for oneself and evaluating situations on an individual basis is apparently verboten by some in our ranks.
All I can say is, keep thinking for yourself and avoiding the groupthink commands going on, and all will be well with you.
Yes I saw "groupthink", but in opposite of how you describe it. This groupthink was with liberals for the most part (and GOPe at the time).
Jeremiah 17:9 was the most common used line of reason (heart instead of head), citing things (from memory) like "I would never let my daughter date an older man" and "that is just creepy". They knew the accusations of the lady that claimed she was almost molested at 14 could never be proven, but they were silent when things she lied about like saying she voting for Trump, (a tactic used by liberals all the time when trying to be more credible) were proven false (she hadn't voted in over a decade according to voting records). When it was proven that the "banned from the mall' thing was just a smear started by one lady (flaming lib JoAnne O'Bar) on the liberal website "New American Journal" which JoAnne just happened to be friends with the editor. The New Yorker Magazine picked it up and it went viral like it was the truth.
For reference here is JoAnne's FB page. Notice what she thinks of your darlin Kavanaugh and Trump and illegal immigration. About as far left, and she admits she is an activist for all things far left.
https://www.facebook.com/joanne.obarThen the had the African American police lady that worked a beat at the Gadsden mall say, "yep he was banned"... but one look at her FB page and you understand why 97+% of women of color voted for Doug Jones. She played the race card over and over during her career (yes even at the police dept). Just another flaming liberal that the media ran with (and got posted at TBR). She has deleted her FB page, but I managed to save a few screenshots if interested.
Here is Faye (police lady) likes on FB... before she deleted it...
.... Leftopia, Liberals always win, Progressive news daily, Blue Side Nation, Stop Trump, Progressive Source Media, Proud to be a democrat, American Liberal Council, Being Democrat, Thank you Barack Obama, Progress Post, Gone Left, Call to Activism, Moving Left, Liberals United, Push Black, Telling Donald Trump he is full of crap, Donald Trump is not my president, Progressive America, and more.... I got tired of typing all the liberal junk she subscribes to.
I started looking deeper into all the players I could find involved in this mess.
A once local man that was ticked (a local that moved to FL recently) that was friends with most the complainants orchestrated this whole thing with the help of a WAPO reporter. He lost a huge settlement to his wife in front of Judge Roy Moore... He had a brother that worked at WAPO that was married by a SCOTUS justice while the issue of it being legal was before her court. Funny thing is that is often quoted here at TBR that Roy Moore voted to stop gay marriage. Actual truth was he didn't, he stepped aside during that vote because he admitted he was bias on the issue and had wrote about it thus didn't feel it was fair for him to vote. The rest of the court voted it, not Roy. That is class, something a couple of the SCOTUS women justices don't have (both have performed gay weddings before it was ruled upon before their courts).
Heck lets look at some other women players in the mess...
Ann Green
Judge for yourself .... here is her FB page... notice her position in the local politics.
https://www.facebook.com/ann.green.7946?fAnn Green is one of friends of
Betsy Davis and Leigh Colfman.... Betsy is one of the ladies that collaborated one of the stories as true (Leigh Colfman). Notice that Ann (Alabama native) is now a California liberal who is married to a very liberal film maker who is friends with some high profile liberal film makers. One could search for days on just how connected she was with the Hollywood left.
https://www.facebook.com/BRDavis72It just goes on and on and on the connections to the left. I dug in for weeks and still devote time in trying to find just ONE shred of evidence to prove Roy did any of this that he was accused. Perhaps you can show me that one bit of evidence above "gut feeling" that I missed?
You may be thinking above the belt line, but it also below the neck line. Heart feelings and facts are often quite different (as that Bible quote I previously mentioned proves). I like you Music Lady, but we are totally 180 degrees off on this issue because I will not be swayed by anything other than facts. Rumors don't cut it.
The only and I repeat only thing people can honestly hold against Roy was he did date women younger than himself, but no solid proof younger than 18 except one lady who claimed she was 17 and she seemed credible. But she also claims Roy was a gentleman in all their encounters. After military school, Vietnam, college, a Cowboy in the middle of the Australian outback, a brief jaunt at kickboxing, and opening a law firm he found he was not too adept with the ladies his age and was still unmarried. I also was that way, after college (didn't date, was broke most time) and starting work after college, it took me a few years to feel I had enough stability to offer a women (plus I was on the shy side). I didn't care to date to just date for social reasons, I wanted a wife and had to mature enough and get some foundation (house) under me before I started serious dating. Not all men are born with the footing needed to date at a young age. Wife was 17 when we started dating, married her a few days after she turned 21. Had about the same age difference as Roy Moore and his wife now.
I think some school age girls had more relationship experience before they were 18 than a lot of us older guys ever had. The say women mature faster, perhaps there is some truth to that, but the reality is a lot of dating worthy women were gone early and if an older fellow wanted to date and have a family he had to pick younger ladies. I know I did, best blind date I ever went on (yes, my wife and I were matched by an older fellow I worked with, was that odd too?)
