It is us that should be offended by you, and others like you, who speak to all of us in the same manner.
Dismissive and arrogant.
Being a Senator doesn't give you any God given right not to be dressed down in public, if it calls for it.
No more than the rest of us.

Dear Senator Gillibrand,

If you do not wish Judge Kavanaugh's tone to become the normal mode of speech by which people address Senators from your party, in the future Democrats in the Senate should refrain from engaging in character assassination.  Perhaps you can lead the charge and encourage your fellows to avoid the practice even when a seat on the SCOTUS is at stake.
