Once Moore got the nomination,  they should have been behind him.  If you don't like him, simply primary him out next time,  but the time to get rid of Moore was in the primary and it didn't happen.  But you never reward a Democrat for GOP stupidity, no matter what.

Hopefully Trump won't have anything to do with it.  I hope a pitchforked angry mob of voters will flood the ballot bax resulting  in a +2 or +3 increase in the GOP senate lead.  With Flake gone, and Collins and Murcowski nuetralized........   The dems won't be able to do a damn thing against any Trump nominee.

Again, this is conjecture if this side show sinks Kav.

It was one year ago that Las Vegas was all shot up....there have been a few stories.

But this story, well, at least, it's not violent like the  Vegas shooting.... it's a horrible thing to do to an individual, to do to Kavanaugh... this has to be the story of the year of 2018, it's riveting. We have had some other events, mass shootings. As bad as those are, I don't many any disrespect towards someone, but it's kind of like rubber-necking at a bad accident.

Senator Orrin Hatch, commentary is that he is saying here, the lawyers of Dr. Ford were deceptive.... as if they forced this public spectacle.

Note, the lawyers for Ford refused to convey information to her, that these interviews could have all been held in secret at a convenient meeting place for Ford, California? Around the District of Columbia?

According to Dr. Ford, she would have preferred to have been interviewed in California, away from the spectacle of a public hearing. But her lawyers apparently refused to convey to their client numerous offers by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley to conduct a public or private interview in the location of her choosing. The lawyers' refusal led directly to a public hearing, against Dr. Ford's express wishes. This is deeply troubling.

Not arguing with you; just a comment: she didn't employ them, she wasn't paying them, she wasn't their client.

Not arguing with you either, surely they must have represented her some, as a client at that hearing, sitting next to her, advising her. That must have made them, at least, de facto lawyers of hers in that instance.

But I get where you are coming from if you are asserting the lawyers she was with were paid by somebody else but I believe, they still issued statements for her, "We want an FBI investigation" and things like that.

Surely, Senator Hatch is not wrong in calling them "Her Lawyers".

She lied about the polygraph test going on and on (only two questions) and about her "fear of flying" (she flies all the time).  So what ELSE is she lying about?   Everything, IMO.

If this above is true according to Sen. Orrin Hatch's letter, the lawyers and as far as I'm concerned, any Democrat in on the ploy should be held responsible for any violations of the law or "Congressional Ethics", maybe more than Feinstein, any Republican who knows about this, should feel much more obliged to vote for Kavanaugh.

Yes, I thought of this too. She could be in on the ruse.... they thought in the beginning, maybe the letter was enough. When that didn't work, they played it by ear (so to speak).  It wouldn't surprise me. We only have Hatch's word and it is likely, this is what the Senate committee was told.

Regardless of who the firm's client is and the ethical resonsibilities with regard to passing on the offer from the committe, how is it that Ford wasn't aware that they were willing to meet her in CA?  It was a major topic on TV, radio, and the internet.  We all knew about it.  Did they have her in a cave or sound proof booth and confiscate her devices?

That's an interesting observation.  She didn't pay them, but they sent and accepted correspondences on her behalf, doesn't that make them her attorneys, whether she paid them or not?

You would think that in even sitting with Dr. Ford at a hearing, this must be some sort of formality itself that says, this IS her legal representation. Maybe there are even forms to fill out. It's not like she could just bring in two people from the street to sit with her, I would not think.
